This meme is hosted by Broke and Bookish. This week we're picking 10 books we struggled to get into but loved in the end. Share your list with me!
The Night Circus probably meant to talk in circles, to add to the mystery and intrigue of the Night Circus. Before I knew it, I loved every character like my very own.
I didn't know what to expect with this book, and it took me a minute to grasp the setting, the plot. It had this sneaky way of grabbing a hold of my heart all at once without warning. It wasn't until it was over and I kept looking for pages that I realized how much I loved it.
This story built on itself so damned beautifully, I look back in awe.
I don't know why I put reading this book off for so long. It had this subtle sort of addiction to it. you think it's no big deal, until the you've stayed up all night, or finished the entire series.
This book takes ordinary and makes it so beautiful.
I kept wanting to quit. It was interesting while I read it, but when I stopped it was just so wordy. It took me a long time to finish this book and series, but when I was done, I was so enthralled and so firmly in their world.
This book starts off slow but it so emotional. I found myself loving it so much I read it again and found all these missed gems throughout.
Elfland has really intrigued me! :-) I shall look that book up!
ReplyDeleteOMG I loved it. The first read felt so long but the second felt so full of magic and love.
DeleteNight Circus is a book I've had in my TBR for a long time...in fact, I think I've gone through several copies, starting...stopping...giving away...buying again. I resolved to read it this year. I think I shall.

Haha, I've actually purchased 3 copies. One I gave to a friend, but still wanted in my library so I bought another at Target. Then saw it at Goodwill for a dollar and really!!! What a steal. So I now have 2 copies. I plan to do a giveaway with it eventually.
DeleteI loved The Night Circus although it took me a bit to get into it at first.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks
I have The Night Circus on my tbr and keep putting it off! I hear such mixed reviews about Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I wanna read it but never go through with buying it! Great list!
ReplyDeleteThe Daughter of Smoke and Bone was a challenging read, haha which is why it's on this list. I saw Laini Taylor would be at a book festival which is what inspired me to read it. The end was so satisfying.
DeleteThe Night Circus I really struggled with, I just don't think it was my kind of thing.

I have got to give A Daughter of Smoke and Bone another try! I think I just wasn't in the right mood for it. I think I'm the only one that hasn't finished it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog earlier today =)

Thank you for stopping by! And yes, Daughter of Smoke and Bone takes a mood.
DeleteI got through We Were Liars pretty fast but I can see why other people would have struggled with it 😊
ReplyDeleteThe Night Circus is one of my favorite novels. I really love the writing and the whole concept just transported me somewhere else. Glad to hear you stuck with it and enjoyed it.
