The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Inside the Hogwarts Castle |
I had an amazing time at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Orlando (WWHP). I was so busy having fun I forgot to take pictures.
Late in 2015 it was announced The WWHP would be here,
locally in Hollywood. I squealed with excitement!
Even more exciting! My husbands job had a special night for
employees and their family. Don't get me wrong, it was still packed, but for a
discounted price I could experience the amusement park weeks before everyone
else. (are you imagining me jumping up and down right now?)
And the show down begins.
In Orlando we had 3 days to explore and take our time but in
Hollywood we had from 3pm to 11pm. As
much as I'd like to say Orlando won this round, in Hollywood we had a preview
before the general public. (well done, 1 point to Hollywood)
Hogsmead Orlando |
In Orlando the whole family went, 12 in total. I'm a book
nerd introvert, and we went with the in-laws. In my opinion it took way too
long to get to WWHP, the rest of Universal could wait. LOL. In Hollywood, it
was just me, the hubby and 2 of our equally obsessed HP fans. No kids. (1 point
for Hollywood)
Orlando's WWHP had Hogsmead and Diagon Alley, AND 12
Grimmauld Place AND The Night Train. Hollywood only had Hogsmead (5 points for Orlando!!!)
Orlando had 4 rides, The Gringotts Bank, The Hippogriff, The
Forbidden Journey, and Twin Dragons which is really 2 rides. Hollywood had 2,
the Forbidden Journey and The Hippogriff (1 point for Orlando)
Orlando has terrible weather and made us leave early one day
(1 point for Hollywood)
Inside the Three Broomsticks |
Orlando had the Hogwarts Express which was, for lack of a
better term SO FREAKING COOL!!! (5points for Orlando!)
Orlando was a 5 hour flight away and Hollywood is about a 40
minute drive (unlimited points to Hollywood)
Still here? Orlando clearly has the better park. Hands down
without question. Hollywoods is small and anti-climatic in comparison. I had my
hopes up for an imitation of Orlando's and was slightly disappointed when I
realized how limited the space is here for all those attractions. I mean unless
they get rid of the actual studios taking up most of the grounds.
However, being a loyal fan, it was still filled with amazing
attractions. The shops had everything you could imagine, the atmosphere is
welcoming. And you really can't beat it being so close. *purchases yearly pass*
